For the first episode of Underdogs, I’m super happy to be talking with Antonio Velasco, CEO and founder of Veevart, an all-in-one software for museum operations. Antonio is the kind of bootstrapped founder who made the 0 to 1 look almost easy. He started by providing software to art galleries and then pivoted to museums, and from there, it grew very nicely.

But after 7 years of bootstrapping, with client acquisition still going strong, Antonio realized the real bottleneck wasn’t growth — it was the organization itself. He felt kind of alone to tacle the next stage of growth.

Today, we dig into what it really takes for a founder to let their company scale: how to recognize when you’re ready for outside help, how to bring in partners without losing your vision, and what it feels like to do so. And as you’ll seen, in Antonio’s case, making space for a partner he wasn’t too excited about at the start!

Spoiler: it was us.
