Europe & Sentiment goes to meet those who live on the border of Europe and Russia and whose identity has been nourished by the Soviet Union, NATO, the European Union and the fall of the Berlin Wall.

Sofya is Russian from Murmansk, Myroslava is Ukrainian from Kharkiv. Sofya was born just before the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1988 (33 yo), Myroslava was born just after the end of the USSR in 1992 (29 yo). In this episode, both in their own way, Sofya and Myroslava talk about their families, the cities where they grew up, their holidays in Crimea, the events that marked their identity and the war between their two countries today.

Constructed as a mirror effect, this episode was made in the urgency of the current war launched by Putin against Ukraine. Both Myroslava and Sofya live in France today but their families are still in Kharkiv and Murmansk.

Sofya & Myroslava is a way of telling the story and questioning the contours of our Europe, the heritage of the USSR, and links between Europe and Russia. In short, it is a way of talking about current affairs while taking the side of the intimate story.
